Daily Briefing ("we", "us", or "our") operates a calendar briefing service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account Information: Name, email address, timezone, delivery preferences
- Calendar Access: You authorize us to access specific Google Calendar(s) you select
Information We Collect Automatically
- Calendar Events: Event titles, times, attendees, locations from your selected calendars
- Usage Data: When briefings are generated and delivered
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to provide the Daily Briefing service:
- Generate personalized daily calendar briefings
- Detect schedule conflicts and identify out-of-office events
- Deliver briefings via email at your chosen time
- Manage your subscription and account
We do NOT:
- Sell your data to third parties
- Use your calendar data for advertising
- Share your information with anyone except as required to provide the service
3. Data Storage & Security
- Calendar Tokens: Stored securely via Nango (OAuth provider) with encryption
- Account Data: Stored in Upstash Redis database with encryption at rest
- Processing: Calendar events are fetched in real-time when generating briefings and are not permanently stored
- Email Delivery: Sent via secure Gmail API
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Nango: OAuth and calendar token management
- Google Calendar API: To fetch your calendar events
- Vercel & Upstash: Hosting and database services
- Stripe: Payment processing (does not receive calendar data)
5. Your Privacy Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: View what data we have about you
- Update: Change your preferences, delivery time, or selected calendars
- Revoke Access: Disconnect your calendar at any time
- Delete: Request full account deletion (removes all your data within 30 days)
6. Calendar Permission Scope
We only request read-only access to your Google Calendar. We:
- Cannot create, edit, or delete events
- Cannot access calendars you don't explicitly select
- Cannot share your calendar with others
7. Data Retention
- Active accounts: Data retained while your subscription is active
- Canceled accounts: Calendar access revoked immediately; account data deleted after 30 days
- Trial accounts: Data deleted 30 days after trial expiration if not converted to paid
8. Compliance
We comply with:
- Google API Services User Data Policy
- GDPR (for EU users)
- CCPA (for California users)
